Rules:
- Song Selection: Choose music that fits the style of your dance and adheres to any
guidelines set by the competition. Avoid inappropriate or explicit lyrics. - Time Limits: Competitions set a time limit for performances. Ensure your routine fits
within the allowed time frame, ranging between 5 to 6 minutes. - Choreography: The routine should be original or appropriately attributed if based on
another’s work. Avoid using excessively complex moves that could lead to injury or a
lack of control. - Costume and Appearance: Costumes should be appropriate, safe, and comfortable for
the dance style you’re performing. - Music and Sound: Ensure that your music is properly prepared and formatted
according to the competition’s requirements in best quality. Have a backup of your
music in case of technical difficulties. - Performance Area: Stay within the designated performance space.
- Judging Criteria: Familiarize yourself with the judging criteria, which includes
technical ability, creativity, stage presence, execution, and overall performance. - Practice and Preparation: Rehearse your routine multiple times to ensure its polished
and ready for performance. Warm up beforehand to prevent injury. - Professionalism: Be respectful to judges, fellow competitors, and organizers. Arrive on
time, follow all instructions, and maintain a positive attitude throughout the
competition.
