Rule:
- Time Constraints: Most theatre or skit competitions set a specific time limit for each
performance, typically ranging from 10 to 15 minutes. Ensure your skit fits within the
allotted time, including setup and breakdown. - Original Material: Competition will require original scripts or creative material.
- Appropriate Content: Stick to content that aligns with the competition’s theme, tone,
and audience expectations. Avoid inappropriate language, themes, or controversial
topics. - Rehearsed Script: Ensure that your skit is rehearsed thoroughly to ensure smooth
delivery, timing, and performance flow. - Roles and Coordination: Assign clear roles to each performer and coordinate closely
to ensure timing, blocking, and interaction are seamless during the performance. - Minimal Set and Props: Competitions have restrictions on set pieces or props. Ensure
your props are practical for the performance. - Safety: Ensure that all props and set pieces are safe to use. Avoid any dangerous or
hazardous items on stage. - Appropriate Costumes: Wear costumes that match the characters and tone of the skit.
Costumes should not distract from the performance but enhance it. - Acting and Performance: Judges will evaluate the actors’ performances, including
their ability to portray emotions, character depth, and believability. - Creativity and Originality: Creative scripting, unique storylines, and clever twists in
your skit will be highly valued. - Timing and Pacing: A strong performance relies on proper pacing, timing, and smooth
transitions between scenes or jokes. - Interaction: Strong chemistry between performers, effective communication, and
audience engagement can elevate your performance. - Overall Presentation: Judges will also assess the overall quality of the production,
including stage presence, costume choices, and how well everything comes together.
