1. EVENT OVERVIEW:
NutriNext 2025 is an innovative competition under Grafest-2025, organized by the Department of Food Science & Technology, aiming to inspire creativity in functional food development and sustainable food systems. The event features one major challenge:
Prototype Development Challenge: “Waste to Health” – Transform food waste into functional foods.
2. EVENT THEME:
“Innovate, Create, and Sustain for a Better Tomorrow!”
3. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Open to undergraduate, postgraduate students and PhD scholars from food science, technology, engineering, and related fields.
- Participants can register as individuals or in teams (maximum of 4 members per team).
- Cross-disciplinary teams are encouraged.
4. COMPETITION GUIDELINES:
Prototype Development Challenge: “Waste to Health”
- Participants must develop functional food products using food waste or by-products.
- Products should demonstrate significant health benefits and sustainability.
- A detailed report, including formulation, processing, and nutritional benefits, must be submitted.
- Teams will be required to present their prototypes before a panel of judges.
5. EVALUATION CRITERIA:
- Entries will be judged based on the following parameters:
- Innovation & Creativity – Novelty and uniqueness of the idea.
- The product should be rich in Nutrition
- Sustainability – Environmental impact and feasibility.
- Technical Feasibility – Scientific and technological validity.
- Presentation & Documentation – Clarity, structure, and effectiveness of communication.
6. EVENT TIMELINE:
- Final Presentations & Judging: 2-3 Hours
- Winners Announcement: After the event is completed
8. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
- Submissions should be in PDF format, including images, graphs, and other supporting materials.
- Prototypes should be presented in physical.
- All reports and prototypes should be original and not previously submitted elsewhere.
9. GENERAL RULES:
- Plagiarism or use of pre-existing commercial products will lead to disqualification.
- Participants must adhere to ethical research and development practices.
- Teams should be prepared to answer questions from the judging panel.
- The participants will not be given any hot appliances.
- The organizing committee reserves the right to amend rules and schedules if necessary.
- No Hot Products: Participants are not allowed to prepare or display any product that requires heating or cooking.
- No Electricity Provided: There will be no electricity supply at the event, so any appliance requiring power (e.g., ovens, induction stoves, heaters) cannot be used.
- Display Only: Bring your products only for display purposes. No live cooking, heating, or preparation is permitted at the venue.
10. AWARDS & RECOGNITION:
- Winner: Certificate of Excellence, Trophy, and Cash Prize.
- Runner-Up: Certificate of Recognition and Cash Prize.
- Best Innovation Award: Special award for the most creative solution.
- All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.
